Vectron - Adding & Editing PLUs

Here I will show you how to go about adding products to the PLU file. The PLUs are separated by category so that similar items can be instantly added to a category without the need to edit the category settings. The groups are typically 50 items long and we would encourage you to keep to these categories if possible to keep the PLU file relatively organised. To access the PLU file, log in as an authorized operator. Go to Manager, Program PLUs.
For speed you can use the Full Text Search at the top of the keyboard. Typing the PLU/Category and space afterwards will show all entries of that search.

Navigate to the area you wish to change, the necessary fields are as follows;
- Name: Changes the display name of the PLU
- Department: Changes how the PLU is treated by a number of different areas (printing/receipt grouping/modifiers). This area is quite complex so I would advise leaving it alone. Only make a change if you want a PLU to replicate the function of another PLU currently in use. Any modifications needed outside of this please contact us.
- Price 1-10: Changes the price of the product. Default will be price 1, modifiers may make use of other price levels however this is dependent on departments. If your business has different pricing within the site then additional price levels may be used also but again this depends on departments. If you are unsure we can always advise on the situation.
- Select link 1-5: This changes the selection options tied to PLUs (Steak cooking time, free side with main etc.). They appear in the order they are placed so you can have multiple options tied to PLUs. The selections are quite customisable so if you are having trouble with one in particular, let us know and we can advise. Some can appear to do the same thing but actually function quite differently. Once you have made your changes, be sure to send them to the other tills in the network by using Send Data at the top of the keyboard. Then press the tick on the top right and it will bring you back to the Sign On screen.
